For well over 40 years the Crown Heights Service Center has been a Beacon of Light and direction for so many in the Crown Heights Community. Whether it was homework assistance, tutorial help, or referrals for those challenged with tenant/landlord issues exacerbated by the everyday ebbs and flows of life. The mentoring, leadership and education training was a natural flow that came as a result of the Mr. and Miss Crown Heights Pageant. The overall goal of the Pageant was to enhance the growth and development of the participants in their respective age categories and then present them, in a formal fashion, to the larger community. This Organization has made it possible for the young & vintage/older people to have various opportunities within our community and beyond.

I have firsthand knowledge of the commitment of this Organization. I was privileged to work at the Crown Heights Service Center with a committed staff of people. We were unconditional in our collective efforts for the people of the Crown Heights community we served. As a result of ‘paying it forward’, I’ve had the distinct honor and pleasure of witnessing young people mature into responsible, caring, productive adults who learned through the Crown Heights Service Center to continue a genuine love for both family and community.

My involvement with the Crown Heights Center continues to this day and I would not trade it for anything. My wish is for all Youth and Families to be a part of this Organization, so they too will be in a position to ‘pay-it-forward’.  PRICELESS!!!!!!!
